About
Plenty of tools tell you something is wrong. Very few tell you what to change.
dsyn.studio is a small set of design utilities built around one idea: a tool should finish the job it started. A contrast checker that reports 3.02:1 and stops has handed the problem back to you — and usually the colour it objected to is a brand colour you are not free to replace.
So the first tool here computes the answer instead. It searches your colour's own lightness axis for the nearest value that passes, holds the hue so the result still reads as your brand, and ranks the options by how little the design moves. It also offers to change the background, which is often the smaller compromise and which almost nothing else suggests.
Why WebAIM's number keeps getting worse
The annual WebAIM Million survey found contrast failures on 83.9% of the top million home pages — up from 79.1% the year before. Every designer has a contrast checker bookmarked, and the problem is still growing. That gap between "tools exist" and "the problem is solved" is the whole reason this site exists.
How it is built
Everything runs in your browser. No account, no uploads, no tracking scripts, no ads on the tools. This is partly a privacy position and partly an engineering one: work that happens locally is instant, works offline, and cannot leak.
The contrast engine implements WCAG 2 alongside APCA, the candidate algorithm for WCAG 3, using APCA's own reference lookup table rather than an approximation. Where the two disagree, the interface says so rather than quietly picking one.
Who makes it
dsyn.studio is made by a designer in India. If a tool gets something wrong, or you need one that does not exist yet, say so — that is currently how the roadmap gets decided.
